If real life is to live for others, Dr. Ross Blagg is living it exactly how it should be. His newest project, Plastic Surgery Road Trip, now airing on YouTube has allowed him to combine all the things he loves into something that will make a difference in the world.
Double D boob jobs, Botox, and Beverly Hills probably come to mind when you hear ‘plastic surgery,’ but Dr. Ross Blagg is a different breed of plastic surgeon. Along with friends he’s met while living all over the world, Dr. Ross travels the country looking for people who have overcome a life struggle and who need plastic surgery to complete their transformation. Along the way, his road trip becomes an American travel guide, highlighting some of the country’s best kept adventure secrets. A morning discovering a weight loss patient’s journey to self-discovery and confidence followed by a night shooting skeet with locals is just another day at the office. Plastic Surgery Road Trip is part docudrama, part adventure travel guide—this is the realm where humanitarian surgeons, adrenaline junkies, and foodies collide. This isn’t “Dr. 90210;” this is plastic surgery with chutzpah.
A product of Southern Arkansas, Dr. Ross grew up on a farm. Since childhood, he has thrived on fostering relationships and exploring how other people live. Later life led him to the ocean where he found a love for marine biology and anything aquatic. After living in the Caribbean, Ecuador, and Australia and diving around the world, he devoted his time to medicine and ultimately to a career in reconstructive surgery. He developed a passion for helping others in need and started the organization Humanitarian Plastic Surgery allowing him to travel the world performing surgeries.
When the pandemic grounded him, preventing his usual surgical missions to Haiti and Guatemala, Dr. Ross decided to venture out in his own country to find those in need. Searching for more connection in a suddenly disconnected and masked world, Dr. Ross’s mission is to dig deeper into the lives of those he is helping with surgery. He likes to refer to himself as “a counselor who operates on people,” and he aims to show that plastic surgery is more than skin- deep. Behind each procedure is a person and a story worth telling. He aims to tell that story in the most compelling, adventure-seeking, heart-warming way possible. Plastic Surgery Road Trip doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, it aims to take all our favorite wheels and mesh them into something that feels new, relevant, and fresh.

With his newest project, and with many past pursuits, Dr. Ross has helped a number of people in and outside the US, and he is hoping to continue his service to the community. He is eager for the borders to open so that he can carry on his philanthropic missions abroad and get back to globe-trotting. In the meantime, he will continue to draw the marrow out of life. His is the story of persistence, service, and kindness – enough to touch hearts and reinvigorate lives with purpose.
