For Google’s Chrome browser, there is an extension “Chrome IG Story” which allows users to view Instagram stories anonymously.
With this free extension, you can get a little bit more out of the feature. For example, the add-on allows users to view Instagram stories without their online friends noticing. In the Instagram app on your smartphone, this doesn’t work. Instagram stories can also be saved on the computer with a right-click.

Relatively new and even more practical is the website “storiesig.com”, built by a developer from Chile. No download or installation is necessary here. Users have to go to the site and type in the name of the Instagram account whose story they want to see.
Saved highlight stories can also be viewed this way. No registration is necessary for the service. The download function is also practical. However, there is one restriction: Anonymous viewing of stories only works if the account in question is public.
